- When Bobby was 5 years old we got the results that he had Duchenne MD. We were scared and nervous all at the same time. I thought it would be so hard to watch my son have to be in a wheelchair. Although now I am so thankful he has one. It is very hard to watch him trip and fall. It is even harder now that he is getting bigger. I have a hard time picking him up when he falls. I am also unable to help him in the van. We are unable to go some place because they are not handicap accessible. We need to stay home from birthday parties and other event because I cannot lift him in the van. My heart yearns to help him to be independent like any other boy his age would be. Please help us on our journey though this.
